These are some PPG Photos from some of my paramotor flights in Ohio. In fact, my very first powered paragliding flight was in Ohio, and it's one I'll never forget. If you've never taken off before, trust me, you'll remember your first flight!
It's a combination of excitement, fear, exhilaration, fear, enthusiasm, and yea, a little bit of fear!
Once you've done flown, though, it's
utterly fantastic. It's really hard to come up with words to describe
that amazing feeling of floating high above your surroundings.
You get a
sense of peace and freedom that you just don't get with both feet
planted firmly on the ground. I love it!
Even though my first flight in Ohio was about a decade ago, I still enjoy flying in Ohio whenever I get back to the States.
My wife is from
Ohio and we've got family there, so I think it will always be on my
flying agenda until I get too old (is that possible?).
Sometimes I start to feel a bit "old," but once I get up in the air, I feel absolutely fantastic! Flying my paramotor is like drinking from the fountain of youth. :)
If you've got a bit of the adventurer in you and you want to experience something as exhilarating as flying before you die, let me encourage you to take some lessons and give it a try.
Flying a PPG is a little pricey, but not really too bad when you consider the alternatives. You can get yourself trained and purchase your own paramotor and wing for as little as $5000.
You won't get a small plane for that price! And you'll get many years of enjoyment out of it. Consider it an investment in your health - De-stressing! :)
I'd love to hear about your powered paragliding adventures and check out some of your photos! Use the form below to upload up to 4 images per submission and tell about your flying experience.
Where do you fly? How long have you been flying? Have any close calls? Seen anything awesome? We'd love to see and hear all about it.
